By holding personal development interviews, EMC is responding to the requirements of its employees. Working together, the employee and career coach examine the employee’s motivations and his or her work-related values. The final stage is drawing up a plan of development goals. In itself, this is not a particularly innovative phenomenon, but it certainly is in the temporary employment sector.

The Martini Gilde
The Martini Gilde is a special healthcare training project for students who require extra assistance to gain entry into the labour market. They are given the chance to learn intensively and gain work experience in a safe environment. The Martini Gilde is a joint project between the Martini Hospital, Calibris, the Alfa college, Noorderpoort and the Municipality of Groningen. The crux of the project is the ‘apprentice-journeyman-master’ principle, as customary in the guilds of the Middle Ages. The master shares his knowledge and experience with an apprentice, who in turn can then advance via ‘journeyman’ to ‘master’. ‘Show’ and ‘copy’ are the keywords. Project participants are trained at the Martini Hospital, the organization where they simultaneously gain work experience. In the Martini Gilde, around 25 apprentices are being fully trained as Care Assistants and Auxiliaries for Care & Well-being in the Martini Hospital.
