Tence moving away from role as temporary employment agency

11 nov 2011 - Tence has been a temporary employment agency for many years, but ultimately no longer felt comfortable with this designation. The fact is that, over time, Tence has increasingly had to contend with the negative image surrounding temporary employment agencies. The company wants to differentiate itself in this area, opting for a new approach and name, i.e. Tence Inzetbureau. As well as a new name, Tence is also getting a new look.

What is a deployment agency?
A deployment agency stands apart from the tired old values and norms of the temporary employment industry. This means an end to the informality in contracts with clients and not having five suppliers working for a single client and still ending up with insufficient resources on the production line. “At Tence, we do it well or not at all. So, a 100% delivery guarantee, everyone on contract by 2020 and using our experience to offer smart solutions for clients,” according to Butz, director of Tence Inzetbureau. “We focus fully on the client’s own expectations, ambitions and wishes and those of the flexi-employee. This is the only way we can be 100% dedicated and committed and be a part of realising their ambitions.”

What will be different about it?
A new name does not mean that everything will change immediately. It is a signal to the market that Tence has thoroughly reviewed the role of a ‘temporary employment agency’. A role that is often deemed unreliable. Butz: “Asking for ten agency staff and getting six is not an uncommon occurrence in the temporary employment industry. Crazy but true.” Deploying flexi-employees is the first step. Tence then looks beyond this and thinks about how it can deal with demand differently from a structural point of view. Tence does not merely review its own processes but those of the client too.

And the agency staff?
Tence chooses to refer to its agency staff as flexi-employees - a term which they feel does greater justice to the flexi-employee’s role. They too are very important in the client chain. A seemingly minor role, for example refuse collection, has major consequences if no one does it. This is also apparent in the new communication and marketing. The posters depict proud Tence flexi-employees with their role in the chain clear.

New logo
Tence is also getting a brand new look and this includes a new logo. This logo will make clear that Tence is part of Vebego, an international family business in the services sector. The payoff line and house style change too. The payoff line will be ‘delivering success’, indicating that, together with the flexi-employees, Tence wants to be a reliable link in the client chain. The better Tence manages to do this, the greater the success. For the house style, Tence has opted for fresh blue and lime green.
