Ad Rutten, Executive Vice President and COO of the Schiphol Group: “We want to place various tasks with a limited number of external parties to allow us to focus more on our core business. In Vebego, we believe that we have found an appropriate party to provide these services. They have a keen eye for hospitality and customer-oriented thinking, but in particular also have consideration for the people who, as of now, will be working for Vebego.”
No impact on jobs
There will be no impact on jobs. All personnel who are currently employed by Schiphol Airport Information and Schiphol Dienstverlening B.V. will transfer to Vebego. Dick Elsinga, who is responsible for airport services at Vebego, explains: “We want to employ the people who are currently working at Schiphol for the provision of our services. They have excellent knowledge of Schiphol and know precisely what hospitality means.”
Now more than just cleaning at Schiphol
Through its subsidiary, Hago Airport Services, Vebego has already been active for a number of years at Schiphol as a provider of facilities services. According to Mr Elsinga it is a logical step for Vebego now to start providing other services too. “Within Vebego we offer a broad service package. We are also active in the areas of healthcare and personnel services, for example. Our strength lies primarily in our ability to motivate employees to provide a good service and to be efficient. It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about cleaning or airport information. What you need is a good team of enthusiastic people. And we are happy to welcome such people to our team now.”
Continuing under the name of Vebego subsidiaries
Various companies come under the umbrella of the holding company Vebego International. That is why the divisions that have been taken over will continue under different names. Airport information will continue under the name Yask Airport Information, while luggage trolley management and security will continue to operate under its own name SDBV.
